Vadde Mere Sahiba
Gurbaani Shabad - English Translation
Gurbaani Shabad - English Translation
Have been listening-to this Shabad from my childhood from the Compact Audio Cassette of Bhai Chaman Lal Jee. Though I couldn't understand it that time, so tried searching over net now. Have been able to come up with below interpretation, with the help I got.
Vadde Mere Sahiba
Gehar Gambhira, Gunee Geheera
Koyee Naa Jaane Tera Keta Kevad Cheera
O My Great Lord
Master of Incomprehensible Depth, you are the ocean of excellence
No one knows how big is extent or vastness of your expanse
Kevad Vadaa Ddeetha Hoye
Keemat paaye na Kehaa Jaaye
Kehane waale tere rahey samaaye
Hearing of his greatness, everyone calls him Great
But how big the greatness is - this is known to only those who have seen him
He can not be valued and he can not be described
Those who describe you, remain immersed and absorbed in you.
Sabb Surthee Mil Surath Kamayee
Sabb Keemat Mil Keemat Paayee
Gyaanee Dhyaanee Gur Gurhaayee
Kehan Naa jaayee teri Til Vadyaayee
All the intuitives met and practiced intuitive meditation
All the evaluators met and put evaluation together
The spiritual teachers, teachers of meditation and teacher of teachers
They can not describe the iota of your greatness
Sabb Saath Sabb Thaap, Sabb Changiyaan
Seedhaan Purkhaa, Keeyaan Vadyaayeeyaan
Thudh Bin Seedhhi, Kinai Naa Paayeeyaan
Karam Milai naahee Thaak Rehaayeeyan
All Truth, All austere discipline, All Goodness
All the Great miraculous Spiritual powers of Siddh Gurus
Without you no one has attained such powers of Siddhi (attainment/accomlishment)
They have received only by your grace, no one can block or stop their flow
Aakhan Vaala, Kiyaa Vichara
Sifati bharey tere bhandaaraa
Jis tu de, tisse kyaa chaaraa
Nanak sach Savaaranhaara
Even though the one who praises you, has not thought about it
still, those praises are overflowing even from a big treasure-house
To whom you have given so much, what option do they have (other than to thanking you)
O Nanak, you embellish/adorn their lives
Sifat (n) - attributes, description of characteristics
(v) - to praise someone
This is such a soothing shabad because of the raag bhairo, and I love it in Shivpreet ji's voice the most!
ReplyDeleteWow, very beautiful Shabad (as usual all Shabads are Beautiful). Very nicely elaborated the meaning. Thank you Lord ..
