Mera Baid Guru Gobinda

Mera Baid Guru Gobinda

This is one of the most simplistic and easy to relate to Gurbaani Shabad. I didn't feel the need to make translation for this as most of the hymn lyrics is self explanatory.

Mera Baid Guru Gobinda
Mera Baid Guru Gobinda
Mera Baid Guru Gobinda
Mera Baid Guru Gobinda

Hari Hari Naam Aukhad Mukh Devai
Kaate Jamm ki Fanda

Mera Baid Guru Gobinda
Mera Baid Guru Gobinda

Janam Janam Ke Dukh Nivaare
Suka Mann Saadhare
Darshan Bhetat Haut Nihala
Hari Kaa Naam Vichaare

Mera Baid Guru Gobinda
Mera Baid Guru Gobinda
Hari Hari Naam Aukhad Mukh Devai
Kaate Jamm ki Fanda

Samrath Purakh Puuran Vidhaate
Aape karanhaara
Apna Daas Hari Ubaara
Naanak Naam Adhara

Mera Baid Guru Gobinda
Mera Baid Guru Gobinda

Hari Hari Naam Aukhad Mukh Devai
Kaate Jamm ki Fanda

Sabb Gobind Hai Sabh Govind hai

Trying to translate this beautiful Shabad from the Gurbaani

Listened to it numerous times in Sikh Gurudwara Sahib San Jose

Even though I used to listen it so frequently, still some words used to confound me, so thought of putting an Effort to get the thorough meaning:

Sabb Govind hai Sabh Govind hai ... Govind bin nahi koyee
Govind bin nahi koyee

Lyrics and Translation:

Sabb Govind hai, Sabb Govind hai
Govind Binn nahi koyee
Govind binn nahi koyee
(Lord being referred as Govind, is everything
Without him, there is nothing and no one at all)

Suut Ek Mann, Satt Sahas Jaise Oti-Proti Prabhu Soyee
(One thread holds hundreds and thousands of beads, same way his creation is woven)

Ek Anek Biyapak Purak, Jatt Dekhun Tatt Soyee
Maaiya Chitar Bichat Vimohit, Birla Bujhe koyee
(He is one, he is many, he is comprehensive and he also complements everything, wherever I look, I see only him
However colors and unexpected quirky traits of allure has captivated people, so very few ask/understand about him)

Jall Tarang arr fein budbuda, Jall Te bhinn naa hoyee
Ih Parpanch Parbrahm ki leela, vicharat aan naa hoyee
(Water wave, foam and bubbles can not be distinguished from the water
Same way even after careful discretion we can not distinguish the ultimate creator from his manifestation (this world))

Mithya Bhram aur Supan Manorath Satt Padaarath Jaaniya
Sukrit Mansa Gur Updesi, Jaagat hee mann Jaaniya
(We/Man is/are considering Spurious, Delusion and Dreamy desires as truth of life
however an awakened mind which is enlightened by discourse of mentor/Guru becomes good creation)

Kehat Namdev hari ki rachna, dekho hriday vicharey
Ghat Ghat Antar Sarv Nirantar, Kewal ek Murari
(Guru Namdev says reflect upon the composition of hari/Lord in your heart by meditating/contemplating
In Each and every component, and till the eternity, there is only one thing which is Lord - the Murari)
